With the Owens Corning Preferred Protection Limited Warranty, every component—not just shingles—of your Owens Corning Roofing System is covered by an extended warranty.
It's a smart way to ensure your investment is protected for years to come.

Maximize Your Coverage Increase the non-prorated coverage—Standard warranties have a very limited non-prorated period where there is 100% coverage for both material defects and the labor to repair or replace them. This usually occurs in the first few years after installation. The Preferred Protection Limited Warranty provides a significantly extended non-prorated period—of up to 50 years in some cases (see chart below). You get full coverage for a much longer time period. Transfer In Full One-time transfer—You can transfer this warranty once anytime during the life of the warranty. With no reduced transfer coverage, the Preferred Protection Limited Warranty is highly desirable to future home buyers. It's a good investment if you're planning to sell. |
Protection From Wind Up to 15 years of extended wind resistance—After sealing and with proper installation, if your shingles are blown off or damaged by wind, we will reimburse you for the reasonable cost of replacing them. You'll be protected from winds up to 130 MPH—depending on the shingle you install (see chart below). The Performance of a Roofing System All Owens Corning system components are covered—Since several Owens Corning Roofing System components are required for the Preferred Protection warranty coverage, individual components take on the warranty of the shingles installed on the field of the roof. In many cases, this extends their warranty. Rest easy knowing your entire Roofing System is covered (see below for requirements). |

Roofing System Products And Requirements
In addition to WeatherLock® Self-Sealing Ice & Water Barrier products, Owens Corning shingles, and any breather-type No. 15 or No. 30 asphalt-saturated felt underlayment, you must purchase two of the four products listed below to qualify for the Preferred Protection Limited Warranty.
1 - Owens Corning Hip & Ridge shingles
2 - VentSure® ventilation products
3 - Owens Corning Starter Shingle products
4 - Owens Corning FiberglasTM Reinforced Felt Underlayment
(qualifies as the mandatory breather-type as listed above)
Note: The Owens Corning Roofing System must be installed over a clean roofing deck and not over existing shingle or other roofing materials to be eligible for this Preferred Protection Limited Warranty.
